The Black Widow Cafe

How can one tell that there is enjoyment in what they are eating when surrounded by others who are eating the same meal as you- Silence. This is exactly what occurred today when I dined at The Black Widow Cafe in Sugarhouse: 837 East 2100 South.  I happened upon their succulent vegetarian sandwich:  A thinner bread with a tomato base, goat cheese, spinach, portobello mushrooms, onions, and it was all covered in a tangy balsamic sauce.  Sounds overwhelming, but the flavors compliment each other nicely.  The sandwiches came with a side salad, house potatoes, or soup.  I had the salad : none of the iceberg lettuce shenanigans, but a nice 50/50 blend with homemade raspberry dressing, diced almonds, and thinly sliced cucumbers that were wrapped nicely around the salad to make a very elegant display.  Not only was this delicious, it was beautiful.   How much did this cost you ask? A mere $8.00.  Very reasonably priced and the service was brilliant.  People happy who are happy to be creating such a comfortable and tasty environment.  Not only am I satisfied, here is the review link to see what others have to say as well: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/54/1576862/restaurant/Sugar-House/Black-Widow-Cafe-and-Catering-Salt-Lake-City.

  1. Hey, This is great!!
I have been a vegetarian for more than half of my life, and I am always in need of a fresh perspective on a veggie diet. It's funny that you wrote about a succulent sandwich, because today I had a craving for a yummy custom made sandwich for lunch. Unfortunately I hadn't read your review of The Black Widow Cafe till tonight, so, I had to settle for nacho's for lunch.
